On Wednesday, March 4, varsity softball beat South Plantation, 10-5.
The Tornadoes took the lead in the top of the first when junior Sophia Calleja hit a double and scored two runs. Top performers were sophomore Emma Lamont offensively and Calleja in the circle. Calleja had four earned runs and four strikeouts. She also had seven hits and scored five runs.
Lamont went 3 for 4 at the plate and contributed two runs. “I felt good that game and had fun. I had a lot of confidence in myself, especially since I went 3 for 4,” Lamont said.
Pompano now has a 3-4 record and will travel to Fort Lauderdale High School for their next game on Monday, March 9.
