The baseball team lost to Western on Feb. 18, 17-2.
In the first inning, Pompano scored first. On defense, sophomore Eric Bouza pitched three innings with five earned runs. In the fourth inning, sophomore Lazaro Riba went in to pitch. It was a tough inning, with Western scoring 12 runs and run-ruling the Tornadoes in the fourth inning.
“The other team played really well. They were very aggressive with at bats, defense, and amazing teamwork and communication between each other,” Bouza said.
According to Bouza, there are things that need to be “buffered” or worked on. When asked what the team needed to work on, he said: “A little bit of everything honestly, the main things that we need to work on are our pitching and situational batting.”
The Tornadoes’ next game is at South Broward on Feb. 23.
