It’s time to play the music. It’s time to light the lights. It’s time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show Tonight as Sabrina Carpenter and the Muppets team up for a one-off special in 2026.
The pop-icon, currently trending for her recent hit album, “Man’s Best Friend,” has been an up-and-coming figure in recent years with hit releases such as “Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” and “Manchild.” Despite starting as an actress for the Disney Channel on “Girl Meets the World,” her music career skyrocketed her to stardom.
Now, the Muppets, an iconic team of lovable puppets–headlined by diva Miss Piggy, singing frog Kermit, and other iconic felt stars–mark 70 years since their 1955 founding, and approach 50 years since the 1976 beginning of their iconic show.
Despite primary popularity for the felt- and fur-covered group peaking in the late 70’s and early 80’s, recent releases such as “The Muppets” (2011), “Muppets Most Wanted” (2014) and “Muppets Haunted Mansion” (2021), have brought the band back to popularity once again, highlighted by the addition of a star honoring them on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.
Now, The Muppets celebrate the 50th anniversary of “The Muppet Show” with a one-off “Muppet Show” event special and following the age-old tradition of guest stars on the show, bring Sabrina Carpenter with them.
Veteran Muppet performers Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman and Matt Vogel will perform the majority of the Muppet characters in the special, supported by a team of additional performers. The show is also being produced by Canadian actor and comedian Seth Rogen, known for his performances in comedies such as “Superbad” and “Pineapple Express,” who has also served as a producer on series such as “Invincible” and “The Boys.”
Now, the amphibian-led gang is back together for an anniversary show of the ages where they “got another goal to show, we can do it all again!”
