October has arrived! With it, comes a new Student of the Month for Pompano Beach High School. This month, the person chosen for the honor was freshman Slater Wright. He has worked really hard this year to be able to achieve the award, putting a great amount of effort into everything he has done.
Think about the feeling of accomplishing a goal or being recognized for your actions. It must feel good, doesn’t it? “My thoughts on being Student of the Month are that I was recognized for my hard work and dedication towards school and that this award motivates me to work even harder,” Wright said. He uses this accomplishment as motivation and views it with pride.
Being Student of the Month has a different meaning to everyone. “Student of the Month, to me, means someone who excels in the classroom while helping others in their environment,” Wright stated. He takes his role of Student of the Month very seriously. He feels he is fit for the role, as he not only thinks about himself, but for the people around him as well.
As he is recognized as Student of the Month, Wright believes it has positively impacted him. “Being student of the month has only affected me to work harder and not get distracted from school,” he said. This highlights how the role of the Student of the Month can help people improve in their daily life. Wright will keep improving every day, focusing on school and becoming a role model for his peers..
To become Student of the Month, Wright engaged in learning and always thought about other people. “I asked a plentiful amount of questions to aid in comprehension of certain material and focused on completing my assignments in a timely manner,” Wright said. His actions and selfless attitude were the deciding factors that made him Student of the Month. Wright’s mindset, goals, and actions have made him a great student at our school.
As time goes on, Wright will continue to use this achievement in a positive way and make our school an even better place. “I will advance my working and learning capabilities as a student of the month,” he said. Wright will carry on excelling in the school’s standards and keep growing as a person. Wright truly illustrates what it takes to be the Student of the Month.
