The girls volleyball team lost in straight sets (25-11, 25-20) to St. Thomas Aquinas High at home Oct. 12.

“We could’ve done better in our defense,” freshman Dasia Johnson said.

The game was part of the Broward County Athletic Association Big 8 Tournament, to which the top teams in the county are invited. Aquinas wound up winning the tournament.

“I thought the game could’ve gone either way,” Johnson said. “It just depended on how well we worked together.”

The team’s district tournament begins Oct. 17 in the gym.
