Softball falls to Pines Charter

The softball team got behind early into the game and was unable to recover in an 8-3 loss to Pembroke Pines Charter at home on March 10.

Pines Charter got home runs in the first and second innings, then three more runs in the third.

Senior righthander Sammy Murphy allowed five hits and five runs, striking out eight in the first three innings. Murphy hit a home run in the bottom of the third to cut the lead.

The team outhit Pines Charter 11-7, but the winner made up by stealing five bases during the game. Reiley McLeod went 3 for 4, while McKenzie Jewell and Murphy also got multiple hits. mastered several hits for Pompano Beach Tornadoes Varsity.
