The flag football team defeated Chaminade-Madonna on March 2, 33-13.

The team took the lead in the first quarter, scoring two touchdowns and a one-point conversion. Both teams scored in the second quarter.

“When we’re starting to win, we start to slow down,” sophomore receiver offensive player, Aolani Bassa said.

After the team regrouped at halftime with a 20-7 lead, it scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter to build the lead to 33-7.

“I thought we did pretty good, but I don’t think it was our best game,” junior Ella Casey said.

The Lions came back with a touchdown in the final quarter.

“The girls started out on fire, played really good, they got a little bit complacent at the end- so we need to keep the intensity up and win districts,” Coach Johnathan Firth said.

The team plays at Boyd Anderson on March 14.
