The girls’ basketball team beat Taravella on Dec. 12, 57-54.

“I feel really happy,” sophomore small forward Sydney Lumpkins said. “It was a close game and we were down a lot of points, but we were able to play together and come back.” Lumpkins led the team with 29 points and four assists.

After losing ITS previous game 48-35 to South Plantation on Dec. 8, the team came back stronger and with more confidence.

“I think we’re going to do really well,” sophomore center Sarah Nyemetz said. “We have won three games so far, so I’m excited for the rest of the season and I think we’re gonna do really good.”

The team’s latest victory brought its record to 3-2. The team has two away games during midterm week, returning home Jan. 9 against Coral Glades.
