Leach reaches for success

Freshman Sunny Leach has found the shift from middle school “eventful and exhausting.”
”All the work and responsibility has been harsh but I’m accommodating,” Leach said.
Leach recognizes the importance of starting high school strong.
“My biggest challenge is definitely going to be getting a Bright Futures scholarship, because I don’t have Florida Prepaid,” Leach said.
Leach said she will be as involved as she can in all her classes, especially journalism. She’s certain she’s going to enjoy journalistic writing.
“I joined because it would be cool working for the school paper, and I want to be a journalist or author,” Leach said.
Leach says her top two interests are writing and reading, specifically romance fantasy books.
“I am trying to get better at writing because I want my career to be based on it in the future,” Leach said.
Some of her biggest accomplishments include winning first place in debate tournaments, getting straight A’s for all middle school and receiving an assistant principal’s award.
“I learn best with teachers who are open minded,” she said.
When Leach isn’t worrying about school she spends her time at the pet store because she loves animals, especially cats, and even has two of her own.
“My favorite memory with my cat was when I would put him in a stroller and roll him around when I was three.” Leach said.
The best day of her life, she said, was the Tyler the Creator concert, which she got to enjoy with her friends and described as “fun, exciting and most definitely loud.”
