A new inspiring administrator joins us this school year: Dr. Tameka L. King. As the new Assistant Principal, she hopes to inspire and motivate students to work at their full potential. “As the administrator over 10th graders (G-P) and 11th graders, I am fully committed to empowering our students to excel in all areas of academia,” King said.
Being an administrator 10 years before PBHS, King states, “My goals remain the same as they always have been, which are to maintain a standard of excellence in all things, use my expertise and influence to work with the school community, and maximize opportunities and experiences.”
An Assistant Principal’s main role is to assist in providing leadership to the staff and determine objectives by identifying school needs.
“I can honestly say that my professional leadership policy is centered on changing lives,” King said. “I am a life-long learner who works tenaciously to ignite that same passion in others.” Her main focus is taking the time she needs to learn about her school environment and assess the needs and ways in which she can enhance existing programs.
King believes change is key to a successful school environment, and that includes implementing, updating, and refining current ideals at PBHS. “I believe that things should be refined annually, so hopefully things within my scope of responsibilities will be even better next year.”
King encourages students to please reach out if they have any questions or advice about the school or herself. She emphasizes “…please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of our other dedicated staff members should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.”
