Another exciting year rolls back around with homecoming. Homecoming brings out spirit in everyone, where students show off their school spirit with fun outfits all week long with various themes such as Country VS Country Club, Adam Sandler Day, and Color Wars.
Some seniors, though, were hoping to have some themes that were a little more bold.
“I think the themes were okay. Personally, because it was my senior year I was looking forward to more outgoing themes,” senior Morgan Schradel said.
On the other hand, the lower classmen have already started coming up with some fun ideas for upcoming themes. “Rhyme without a reason because it’s a super funny and silly theme,” sophomore Aleena Awan said. Another student, freshman Delia Gee said if she could pick a theme for spirit week she would pick Iconic Duos.
Behind the scenes, the Student Government Association worked hard to decide on this year’s homecoming spirit week. Ciera Rosado, first vice president and the one in charge of the spirit committee, shared what inspires her and how the choosing process works. “I wanted to pick something new and creative that hasn’t been done in a long time,” Rosado said. She explains that they try to come up with the themes based on trends and movies/shows. “We send them with a description to the admin and they approve.”
Although not every theme was everyone’s favorite, spirit week still continues to bring joy, creativity, friendship, and most importantly school pride to our Golden Tornados.
