Student Government Association (SGA) is an organization that represents the student body and acts as its voice, providing opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, enhance campus life, and understand democratic principles. Senior Maci Oulten is the SGA president.
She started student government in elementary and continued through middle school into high school. She learned about this program from older friends and from the Pompano community. When she heard about it she found it very interesting.
“I’ve met some of my closest friends through SGA. I’ve gained really good connections throughout the school and just with my administrators and my teachers, and that overall just benefited me,” Oulten said. Some advice Oulten would give to people thinking about joining SGA is to take every opportunity you can.
