What do you get when you combine Marvel characters and events with elements and fundamentals that make a great Team PVP Shooter game? You get the overwhelmingly popular and growing game that is Marvel Rivals. With its first official season released Jan. 10, the game has been loved by not only fans of Marvel, but video game fans in general have been pulled in by the game.
Not only does it have lovable, diverse, and accurate character designs and skins, large and beautiful maps, it is also free. While there are purchases you can make in the game, none of the purchases directly impact gameplay, only being cosmetic, which you can unlock most of them naturally anyway with the in-game currencies that you gain by doing quests.
Many still question What do you do in Marvel Rivals? Here’s it simple: Marvel Rivals is a fast-paced third person PVP game in which 2 teams of 6 characters from Marvel comics battle each other, generally with a main goal, such as pushing or stopping a payload (such as knull’s essence) or capturing 2 out of 3 points (like asgard).
“It’s very easy to learn, it only took me 10 minutes to find my main hero,” freshman Justin Seaman said.
If you like Marvel (or just a big game fan), Marvel Rivals is a game you won’t regret trying out. With its amount of characters, you’ll probably find a character you enjoy. It also encourages cooperation, with certain power-ups between related characters, so why not bring a friend to play your favorite heroes who happen to be friends in the comics? The game is new, and with its massive popularity, it will probably continue to receive love from its makers. If you do get the game and enjoy it, try your best to stop playing, because once you start enjoying it, it’s hard to stop (trust me).
