At the end of every year, Spotify, one of the world’s largest streaming platforms, provides their users with a summary of their listening activities, and each year it has typically been well received. However, there has been a recent shift this past year.
Spotify, a digital music streaming service, is widely used by people around the globe and is arguably one of the most popular streaming services today. Every year, Spotify provides its users a recap of different songs and genres that they have listened to throughout the months.
This event, known as Spotify Wrapped, is something that most users look forward to, with millions of people sharing their Wrapped playlist among others and friends.
Recently, a lot of people have felt that their Wrapped playlists were underwhemling.
Some online have called the company, “lazy,” and others think it’s related to the increase of A.I., but is there any truth to that?
Wrapped has always been known for its creative themes. However, one of the changes that threw people off was the lack of Sound Town, a portion of Wrapped where users are matched to cities where their favorite artist is widely streamed . In addition, most users noticed the lack in detail regarding the theme and the playlists, resulting in an underwhelming Wrapped. So was there any A.I used in the process? We will never not but we can hope that maybe next year things can look brighter.
