The football team won their away game against Boca Raton Christian Blazers on Friday, Sept. 27, scoring 31-14.
The team scored the first touchdown as well as a field goal before the Blazers returned the ball.
“Prior to the game, we felt disrespected being scheduled as Boca Christian’s homecoming game, but after a strong week of practice, we were confident that we would be back in the win column,” Coach Altidor said. “I felt the players were prepared and locked in and we had a solid game plan prepared for both sides of the ball as coaches.”
By halftime, the tornadoes were in the lead.
“I like the players and coaches we have and there’s never a doubt in my mind that we can’t go out and compete with any team. We’ve been working for months now and I feel we’re all very prepared,” junior Joshua Harelik said. “I was really proud of them, but we still have a lot of work to do if we want to win out the rest of the season,” Altidor said.
The team will take on Somerset Academy on Oct. 9.
