Due to a shortage of drivers, buses have been arriving a lot later than usual this year, on some occasions even hours late.
“During the time kids were at home, bus drivers had no kids to drop off.” Assistant Principal Denise Reed said. “Unfortunately, due to the situation lots of drivers had to be let go.”
Reed and administration involved with transportation have been working to solve the issue.
“We have communicated with the county in regards to merging stops, merging buses and having sweeper buses to pick up remaining kids,” Reed said. “Communication has been key.”
Reed said that more buses are now arriving on time.
