Nine students were inducted into the National Spanish Honor Society on March 31. The ceremony included those who were to be inducted last year as well as new inductees.
“The virtual ceremony posed many problems especially because we couldn’t do the candle piece that is an essential part of the ceremony,” vice president Andrea Castellano said.
The club accepts students with high achievement in Spanish and with interest in celebrating the cultures of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking peoples.
This year’s inductees were Alex Cedeno, Nico Nava-Cruzatt, Ashley Simonato, Najielie Burgos, Estrella Maldonado, Dilan Gobea, Sophia Acosta, Carolyne Alguera and Herbert Ferreira.
