School clubs and societies have had a rough go of it this year, according to Inter-Organizational
Council president Vicky Franco., with COVID-19 hindering some of their original plans.
However, she said the IOC has been able to stay productive and positive in the midst of this
pandemic.

“So far, even with the E-learning obstacle, we’ve been doing pretty well, right on track with everything going smoothly,” Franco, a junior, said.

Franco and secretary Nicole Torres have both returned to campus, unlike most of their peers.

“So far, (the biggest problem has) been the distance/separation between school and online,” Franco said. “We can still do our meetings during Teams, but the actual interaction or like specific events we’d do, we can’t do as we wished.”

Franco said that IOC has had good attendance at meetings, and officers reach out when clubs and organizations ask for help.

“As of right now, we are just focusing on our upcoming meeting and seeing if we can work on doing something later this quarter,” Franco said.
