Spanish 1-4 and AP students and French 1- 3 students participated in the countywide World Languages Competition from Feb. 17 to Feb. 24.
“The main purpose is for students to display their talents in the target language (French, Spanish or Chinese for us) at the county level,” Sylvie Lerbs, world languages department chair, said.
The event had a variety of categories, such as Declamation. “Students usually learn a poem and say it with feeling and proper pronunciation, and even with an attire that represents the mood of the poem (in Declamation),” Lerbs said. Other categories included Posters, Projects and New Media
Results are expected to be announced in early March.
